About The Tour

About the Tour:
Starts at 2005 N Lamar Ave
12PM – 5:00 PM
We’re pleased to bring you the 2018 Tampa Heights Community and Home Tour! We’re programming this year with a slightly different flavor to highlight all the exciting things that are happening in and around Tampa Heights. With the continued resurgence of Tampa’s urban core, we are going to highlight the historic fabric of the neighborhood. This year’s tour will showcase some of those staple homes that highlight the beautiful varied styles from the turn of the 20th century, with a few newer homes that are staying true to that historic feel. We’ll also look at how our historic structures are being re-purposed for many different uses making Tampa Heights one of the premier Live-Work-Play neighborhoods in the Tampa Bay Area! We’ll start at the Tampa Heights Junior Civic Association at 2005 N Lamar Ave (corner of Palm Ave and Lamar Ave) for ticketing. Follow the map included in this guide to visit the nine different structures we are highlighting this year. We’ll conclude the tour with the final stop at Lee’s Grocery, winner of “The Best of the Bay” for their incredible pizza and chicken wings!

After the tour check out the Historic Theater District on Franklin Street where you can pop into several of the local businesses (both old and new). From there you can pass through the redevelopment of the Tampa Heights waterfront highlighted by the Ulele Restaurant and Waterworks park and then see the progress being made on the Riverwalk extension as you pass the Armature Works building (AKA the old Trolley Barn), and observe the soon-to-be-completed Pearl Development just to the north as part of ‘The Heights’ project that will add even more character to the area.

Tour map, please do not skip the beginning (the stop at the community center), this is where you will get your wristband.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Advertisements and sponsorship help the association perform various tasks throughout the year. These include neighborhood beautification projects like clean-ups with Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, murals around the neighborhood, installation of trash cans along various corridors, and bike racks along Franklin Street. Future projects may include fundraising for Park improvements and bus stop beautification and amenities. We’re always open to new ideas. Advertisement for the tour will include space on our printed media and digital placement on this Tour of Homes page until the following tour.
